PBL is NOT going away. The district is still strongly supporting this initiative. Even though the Straight A grant has gone away, we are still taking the following measures to support and sustain PBL.
Building Leadership Teams are meeting routinely to strategize ways to support staff and promote PBL
Building Leadership Teams will be participating in Learning Walks on Nov. 30 to learn about what other leadership teams are doing and to give and get feedback about their work
The district is continuing to work with the Buck Institute and get their support and feedback about how to continue to support PBL in the district
Kristy Geiger and Cory Caudill will be co-facilitating PBL 101 training with new staff in November. They will become trained Workshop Facilitators this year and can provide this training each for new staff
We are highlighting PBL units in the eBolts newsletter
We've purchased Swivl cameras for each building to use to support PBL learning (peer to peer feedback and self-reflection)
We're attempting to form a PBL Review team that teachers will submit their PBL units to and get feedback from this team. Eventually, this team will post the units they have approved to the district website. Then we will have a bank of PBL units for the district to use.
